Bio: Joseph Papke is a Minneapolis theater artist and arts educator. He has coached accents at the Guthrie Theater, Park Square Theatre, Penumbra Theatre, Mixed Blood Theatre, and many others. As an actor, his credits include the Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Penumbra Theatre, Park Square Theatre, Old Log Theater, and the Children’s Theatre Company.

As an educator, he has guest-taught theatre skills at the University of Minnesota, the University of St. Thomas, Hamline University, St. Olaf College, Macalester College, and many high schools.

Papke is an associate teacher of Knight-Thompson Speechwork and earned his master of fine arts degree under Michael Kahn at the Shakespeare Theatre Company’s Academy for Classical Acting at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. As the producing artistic director of Classical Actors Ensemble, he has more than twenty directing credits and thirty-five text-coaching credits of Early Modern Drama, and has performed roles that include Richard II, Iago, and Benedick.
