Bio: Lisa Wentz, M.A., AmSat, is a public-speaking coach, accent specialist, and author of Grace Under Pressure: A Masterclass in Public Speaking. Lisa holds a master’s degree in Voice and Speech Pedagogy from the Central School of Speech and Drama, University of London. In 2005, Lisa earned her AmSat Teaching Certification in Alexander Technique and is the only person in California with a master’s degree in voice and speech studies, and teaching certification in Alexander Technique. She has given seminars at the Association for Theatre in Higher Education conference, the Alexander Technique Education Center, and at the American Society of Alexander Technique Teachers conference.
Lisa has worked in many drama conservatories as a teacher of Voice/Speech, Alexander Technique, and Shakespeare including the American Conservatory Theatre, University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Marin Shakespeare and several conservatories in London including East 15 Acting School, Rose Bruford College, and the Performers College.
In 2008, Lisa founded the San Francisco Voice Center and has worked with business professionals, teaching leadership, presentation skills, and accent reduction. Lisa has coached executives and project managers from Fortune 500 companies such as Symantec, Genentech, Salesforce and Google.
Considered one of the top coaches in the San Francisco Bay Area / Silicon Valley, She has been featured as a Public Speaking expert in The Wall Street Journal, the L.A. Daily Journal, The AssociationNews and French Connection-SF.
She is the author of the upcoming book titled Accent Reduction for the Individual. Other notable work includes coaching barristers for the Queen’s Council in London.
