She has never lived outside Uzbekistan. In addition to living in Andijan, where she was born and raised, the subject has lived in Tashkent, the nation’s capital and largest city.

OTHER INFLUENCES ON SPEECH:

Uzbek is her mother tongue, and she speaks it in an Andijan dialect. The shape of Uzbek people’s speech apparatus is specialized for the Uzbek or Turkish languages, so it might be a barrier to pronouncing some sounds in English and other Western languages. However, her bachelor’s degree in a language-related field, in addition to her working as a teacher and analyzing foreign-language films, has likely improved her comprehension and pronunciation of English.

As for me, I was born in 1998, in Uzbekistan, in Andijan, but nowadays I have been living in Tashkent. I graduated, uh, the university, Uzbekistan State World Languages University, bachelor’s degree, translation faculty. Recently I was accepted to Martin Luther University in Germany for the master degree program.

I am very interested in foreign languages because I believe that languages help me communicate with different people and understand other cultures. I have also worked in several organizations and different positions, especially as a main teacher. This experiences [sic] helped me to improve my communication skills and become more responsible, uh, in any sphere.

In my free time, I have several hobbies, and, for example, I enjoy watching movies in foreign languages and not only watching movies but also analyzing them. I also like drawing because it helps me to relax and also express my creativity. I always try to learn something new and improve myself in the future. Uh, I believe that I will learn more languages and develop my professional skills, um, in this sphere.
