Pacific Northwest gets 2 new subjects

Thanks to IDEA contributor Nick Torres, we have two new subjects from the American Pacific Northwest. They are Washington 8 and Oregon 6.

The subjects, a man and a woman in their 70s, are the first Washington and Oregon subjects representing the over-50 age demographic. And the woman is our first from the eastern part of Washington State (Walla Walla).

  1. I’d like to volunteer as a subject, should you need one. I’m 62, an actor, and I am also a former student of Paul Meier’s while I attended the University of Kansas. I was born in the South Bay Area of California, raised in rural Central Oregon, and have lived in the Puget Sound region of the state of Washington since 1995.

  2. Thanks for your message! Paul sends his regards. If you spent the majority of your formative years in rural Central Oregon, it sounds like you would be a good Oregon subject. Please e-mail me for more info at editor@dialectsarchive.com. And click on the Submissions tab on the menu bar for more info.
