Paul Meier

Demonstrating the Received Pronunciation dialect of English is Paul Meier, IDEA’s founder and director. British-born and raised, but resident in the United States for much of his adult life, he is a professor emeritus of voice, speech, dialects, and heightened text at the University of Kansas. He trained at the Rose Bruford School of Speech and Drama and holds a first-class Certificate of Proficiency from the International Phonetic Association. He is a dialect coach for theatre and film, and is the author of Accents & Dialects for Stage and Screen. Paul reads Comma Gets a Cure.
