There’s no place like home

Paul Meier founded IDEA in 1998 in Lawrence, Kansas, while he was head of voice and speech in the theatre department at the University of Kansas. (He is now professor emeritus.) But, ironically, out of the roughly 1,400 subjects in the archive, we’ve never had one who spent the majority of his or her formative years in Lawrence – until now. See Kansas 8.

Adding to the irony is we’ve also never had a “pin in the map” for Orlando, Florida, though that is the current home of yours truly (Cameron Meier, IDEA’s executive editor). That absence has also just been corrected in the form of Florida 17.
