Bio: Patricia Helsel, Assistant Professor of Theatre, is head of the new major in Theatre and Electronic Media Performance. She teaches Acting, Voice and Articulation, Musical Theatre, Audition Techniques, Vocal Techniques for Media and Theatre, Presentation Skills courses. Productions directed for the department of Visual and Performing Arts include: Twelfth Night, The Ultimate Audiobook, The Bald Soprano and The Lesson (selected to be a part of the 2010 Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival), The Robber Bridegroom, Beyond Therapy, and The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Recent endeavors include directing I Am My Own Wife and vocal coaching H.P. Lovecraft stories, Romancing Horror.
Patricia has a Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting and Directing from Minnesota State University – Mankato, and a B.A. degree in Theatre and Music, from Elmira College. She recently opened her own recording studio, OnAirvoices.com.
