Bio: Jhon Eduardo Mosquera Pérez is a full-time English teacher, educator, and researcher at Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia (UPTC) in Boyacá, Colombia. He holds an. B.A and an M.A in English-language teaching from Universidad Surcolombiana and an M.A in learning and teaching processes in second languages from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana.
As a scholar, he has participated in various ELT-specialized academic events and has published articles revolving around applied linguistics and second/foreign-language teaching in national and international journals.
Jhon belongs to the groups Aprenap and Comuniquémonos (Universidad Surcolombiana), Corporación si Mañana Despierto (Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia, or UPTC) and LSLP, or Literacies in Second Languages Learning (Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana). As a member of the latter group, he addresses research in relation to the areas of English as a lingua franca, World Englishes, language ideologies, EFL teacher’s identity and professional development, materials design, sociolinguistics, critical literacy, language ideologies, and decoloniality in ELT.
